Paddington Station – “George the Rhino”

Between August and October last year, on Platform 7 at Paddington Station, George the Rhino made an appearance. George was one of 42 life-sized painted rhinos used to by Paignton Zoo to promote the wealth of artistic talent in the South West (which the trains from Paddington serve) and to highlight the plight of Javan and Sumatran rhinos. The others were part of a trail in Exeter and the English Riviera.

Artists from the area included professionals, accomplished amateurs, set-designers, film-makers and graffiti specialists. Following the exhibition 39 of the rhinos were auctioned off and raised £130,000 for the charity.
